2.2 Console Access
The DS Series can give network administrators console access to up to 32 devices, including routers, switches,
servers, CSU/DSUs, or BayTech's RPC series remote power management solutions.
Build your own custom solution.
The DS-Series is modular in design with several chassis sizes. The modules installed determine how the unit is
accessed and how many RS-232 devices can be controlled.
Modules available include an Ethernet (Telnet) Host module, dial-up host module, RS-232 Host module and the 4
port RS-233 peripheral module.
Base Unit Selection
Base unit selection is determined by the number of modules needed, which in turn is determined by how many
devices are going to be controlled by it. For Dial-up and Ethernet console access in the same unit use the dual host
units. For more ports and only dial-up or local RS232, the single host units are recommended.
