Chapter 2 Switch Installation
Installing the Switch Module into the Server Chassis
Step 3 Configure the baud rate and character format of the PC or terminal to match these console port default
characteristics:
9600 baud
8 data bits
1 stop bit
No parity
None (flow control)
Step 4 Go to the “Waiting for POST to Complete” section on page 2-11 to finish configuring the switch module.
Connecting through the DRAC/MC
Follow these steps when connecting through the DRAC/MC:
Step 1 Connect one end of a DB9 null-modem or crossover cable to the RS-232 console serial port of the
DRAC/MC. Connect the other end of the cable to the RS-232 console serial port of the computer. (See
Figure 2-5.)
Note The default data rate of the DRAC/MC console serial port is 115200 baud.
