This document contains the following chapters and appendixes:
• Chapter 1, “Introduction to Router Configuration”—Describes what you
need to know about the Cisco IOS software (the software that runs the router)
before you begin to configure the router.
• Chapter 2, “Configuring Security Features”—Describes how to configure
security features on Cisco routers, including IP Security (IPSec), firewalls,
and virtual private dial-up networks (VPDNs).
• Chapter 3, “Miscellaneous Features”—Provides procedures for configuring
miscellaneous features of the Cisco 1700 Series routers: Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Network Address Translation (NAT).
• Chapter 4, “Configuring Routing Among VLANs with IEEE 802.1Q
