Description Sometimes cannot set threshold in Load Monitor’s Source,

Destination, or Conversation graph

Details When using Load Monitor in standard RMON mode with a LanProbe, if

the probe does not have sufﬁcient resources to create a hostTopN study,

you will not be able to set a threshold in the Source, Destination, or

Conversation graph.

Work-Around Use Extended RMON mode to view these graphs.

Description Load Monitor updates take a long time for Source, Destination,

and Conversation graphs in Standard RMON mode

Details When using Load Monitor in standard RMON mode with a LanProbe, if

the host or matrix tables are very large and a threshold is not set, the

view window can take a very long time to update.

Work-Around To minimize the amount of data that must be retrieved from the probe,

ensure that an appropriate threshold is conﬁgured in the Source, Desti-

nation, or Conversation graph’s data properties.

Description ERM does not advance time when there are no packets on the

network segment

Symptom No points are added to Load Monitor’s Time graph, even after one or

more collection intervals have elapsed.

Details ERM relies on packet time stamps to advance the history buckets within

netmd or erm_netmd. If no packets are seen, history does not advance.

Work-Around None.
