Minimum System Requirements

The following information describes the minimum system and platform

requirements for HP OpenView NetMetrix/UX version 6.0.

Platform and Operating System

● HP 9000 Workstations (7xx) and Business Servers (8xx)

with PA RISC 7000 version 1.1 or later;

HP-UX v. 10.20

Sun SPARC; Solaris v. 2.5x, 2.6

● Internetwork Response Manager (IRM) and Agent (IRA) are available

only for HP-UX; IRM requires HP OpenView Network Node Manager

version 4.11 or 5.0x.

Other NetMetrix/UX applications work with, but do not require, HP

OpenView Network Node Manager v. 4.11 or 5.0x.

Memory/Swap Space

● Applications: 32MB virtual/16MB resident.

● Internetwork Response Manager (IRM): 16MB virtual/3MB resident.

● Internetwork Response Agent (IRA): 2MB virtual/1MB resident

● Extended RMON Module (ERM): 32MB virtual/16MB resident plus

shared memory, maximum segment size of 0.5MB, 3 segments required

per associated LanProbe and PVC, 6 segments per associated

WanProbe interface.

● Swap space: 64MB or twice available RAM, whichever is greater.

System/User Processes

● 750 system processes recommended; at least 250 available to a given

user.
