Upgrading from a Previous Release

If you are upgrading from a previous release of NetMetrix, note the

following:

● Follow the upgrade instructions on page 13 of Installation.

● After installing the new software, be sure your HP probes have current

ﬁrmware.

● Because the Agent Toolbox application has been replaced by the new

Agent Manager, you will need to convert your existing inetmon.conﬁg,

agent.db, and ovpmhd.conf ﬁles by launching Agent Manager. For

information on this new application, refer to the Agent Manager chap-

ter in Data Collector Reference.

● The license scheme for NetMetrix has changed for this release. Conse-

quently, you will need to request and install new license passwords. For

instructions, refer to page 41 of Installation.

Upgrading HP Probe Firmware

After installing NetMetrix/UX, be sure to upgrade the ﬁrmware in your

HP Probes. New ﬁrmware is included in this release for many probe

models.

For further information, refer to the /usr/netm/ﬁrmware/README ﬁle

and to page 87 of Data Collector Reference.
