Description Time view for ATM and AAL5 statistics are empty

Symptom The time graph is blank, with the words “not selected” at the top, and

remains that way even if the interface has been associated with the ERM

for more than two collection intervals.

Details This happens whenever the time graph is not ﬁrst in the zoom path. For

example, it can happen if you launch Load Monitor from the agent man-

ager using Performance➤ Network Views➤Capacity Per Application. It

happens only if you are working with ATM probes. The problem occurs

because Load Monitor does not automatically select the graphical data

value “utilization” for you. [Defect ID 0804–023754]

Work-Around Start the data properties dialog box by selecting

Time➤Properties➤Data... Select "Graphical..." and from the list select

the utilization value. Press “OK” and “Apply”. You should see utilization

data once the probe has been associated with the ERM for at least 1 col-

lection interval.

Description Cannot launch Alarms from Protocol Analyzer if the interface is

not shown in base window

Symptom If Protocol Analyzer’s base frame does not show an Interface: and you

launch Alarms with Tools➤Alarms…, Protocol Analyzer hangs, that is,

the mouse pointer will change to an hourglass and never change back to

a pointer. The only way to recover is to kill the Protocol Analyzer’s pro-

cess ID.

Work-Around Before launching Alarms from Protocol Analyzer, make sure the base

windows’ Interface ﬁeld shows an interface speciﬁcation. To do so, attach

to an instance that has been started, started then stopped, or armed.
