3.7 Cross Connect XC10G Card
The XC10G card cross-connects STM-1, STM-4, STM-16, and STM-64 signal rates. The XC10G
provides a maximum of 384 x 384 VC-4 non-blocking cross connections. Any STM-1 on any port can
be connected to any other port, meaning that the STM cross connections are non blocking.
The XC10G faceplate, cross-connections, and functions are shown in Figure 3-6, Figure 3-7, and
Figure 3-8.
Note The lowest level cross-connect is STM-1. Lower level signals, such as E-1, DS-3, or E-3, can be
dropped. This may leave part of the bandwidth unused.
