copy running-config startup-config
copy running-config startup-config
Builds a configuration file called config.txt that contains general configuration commands. This file is
used in successive boots.
copy running-config startup-config
Syntax Description This command has no arguments or keywords.

Command History This table includes the following release-specific history entries:
Usage Guidelines This command must be entered to save newly configured parameters so that they will be effective after
a reboot. To view the running configuration before saving it, use the more running-config command.
The old configuration file is automatically saved in the /system/prevconf directory.
Authorization: admin
Examples The following example shows how to save the current configuration for successive boots:
SCE8000>enable 10
Password:<cisco>
SCE8000#copy running-config startup-config
Backing-up configuration file...
Writing configuration file...
SCE8000#
